Job Description

Welcome to Royal Caribbean Cruises! We are currently seeking a dedicated and experienced Safety Officer to join our team. As a Safety Officer, you will play a crucial role in ensuring the safety and well-being of our guests and crew members on board our luxurious cruise ships. This position requires someone who is highly organized, detail-oriented, and has a strong background in safety regulations and procedures.   1. Develop and implement safety policies and procedures to ensure the well-being of guests and crew members on board our cruise ships.
  2. Conduct regular safety inspections and audits to identify potential hazards and ensure compliance with safety regulations.
  3. Train and educate crew members on safety protocols and procedures, including emergency response plans.
  4. Investigate and report any safety incidents or accidents that occur on board.
  5. Collaborate with other departments, such as maintenance and housekeeping, to address any safety concerns or issues.
  6. Monitor and maintain safety equipment and systems, such as fire detection and suppression systems.
  7. Keep up-to-date with industry safety standards and regulations and make necessary updates to our safety policies and procedures.
  8. Conduct safety drills and exercises to ensure crew members are prepared for emergencies.
  9. Communicate safety information and updates to all crew members.
  10. Serve as a point of contact for guests with safety concerns or questions.
  11. Maintain accurate records and documentation related to safety inspections and incidents.
  12. Identify and recommend safety enhancements and improvements to management.
  13. Participate in safety committee meetings and provide input on safety-related matters.
  14. Respond to and assist with any safety-related emergencies on board.
  15. Foster a culture of safety awareness and compliance among all crew members.

Job Qualifications
  • Bachelor's Degree In Occupational Health And Safety, Environmental Science, Or A Related Field.

  • Minimum Of 3 Years Experience In A Safety Role, Preferably In The Maritime Or Hospitality Industry.

  • Knowledge Of International And Local Safety Regulations And Standards, Including Solas, Ism Code, And Osha.

  • Strong Communication And Interpersonal Skills, With The Ability To Effectively Train And Educate Employees On Safety Procedures.

  • Certification In Relevant Safety Courses, Such As Nebosh Or Osha, And Experience In Conducting Safety Audits And Inspections.
