Job Description

If so, we have the perfect opportunity for you! Royal Caribbean Cruises is seeking a highly motivated and experienced Safety Officer to join our team. As a Safety Officer, you will play a crucial role in maintaining and promoting a safe environment for our guests and employees aboard our magnificent cruise ships. We are looking for a candidate who is dedicated, proactive, and possesses exceptional communication and problem-solving skills.   1. Conduct regular safety inspections and audits of all areas of the cruise ship, including guest cabins, common areas, and crew quarters.
  2. Identify potential safety hazards and develop strategies to mitigate and prevent them.
  3. Maintain and update safety policies and procedures in accordance with industry regulations and standards.
  4. Train and educate crew members on safety protocols and procedures.
  5. Monitor and enforce compliance with safety regulations and procedures throughout the ship.
  6. Investigate and report any accidents or incidents that occur on the ship, and develop recommendations to prevent similar occurrences in the future.
  7. Collaborate with other departments, such as maintenance and housekeeping, to address safety concerns and maintain a safe and healthy environment for guests and employees.
  8. Conduct emergency drills and exercises to ensure all crew members are prepared for potential incidents.
  9. Stay informed on industry developments and best practices for safety and security in the cruise industry.
  10. Act as a liaison between the cruise line and regulatory agencies, ensuring compliance with all safety regulations and requirements.
  11. Maintain accurate records and documentation of safety inspections, incidents, and training.
  12. Respond promptly and effectively to any safety concerns or emergencies that may arise.
  13. Communicate safety updates and initiatives to all crew members and guests.
  14. Continuously assess and improve safety protocols and procedures to ensure the highest level of safety for all onboard.
  15. Adhere to the company's code of conduct and maintain a professional and ethical work environment.

Job Qualifications
  • Bachelor's Degree In Occupational Health And Safety, Environmental Science, Or A Related Field.

  • Minimum Of 3-5 Years Of Experience In A Safety Role, Preferably In The Maritime Or Hospitality Industry.

  • Certification In Occupational Health And Safety (Oh&S) Or Equivalent, Such As Certified Safety Professional (Csp) Or Occupational Health And Safety Technician (Ohst).

  • Knowledge Of Relevant Safety Regulations And Standards, Including Osha, Coast Guard, And International Maritime Organization (Imo).

  • Strong Communication And Collaboration Skills, With The Ability To Conduct Safety Trainings And Investigations, And Work With Multiple Departments And Teams To Ensure Compliance With Safety Protocols.
