As a Safety Officer, you will play a crucial role in ensuring the safety and security of our guests and crew members on board our ships. - Develop and implement safety protocols and procedures for all areas of the ship, including passenger areas, crew quarters, and operational spaces.
- Conduct regular safety inspections and audits to identify potential hazards and address any safety concerns.
- Train and educate crew members on safety procedures and protocols, including emergency response and evacuation plans.
- Monitor and enforce adherence to safety policies and procedures by all crew members.
- Coordinate and conduct safety drills and exercises to ensure readiness in case of emergencies.
- Investigate and report any safety incidents or accidents on board, and make recommendations for improvements to prevent future occurrences.
- Collaborate with other departments, such as engineering and housekeeping, to ensure all safety equipment and systems are properly maintained and functioning.
- Keep up-to-date with industry regulations and standards related to ship safety and implement necessary changes to ensure compliance.
- Maintain accurate records of safety training, drills, and incidents for reporting and regulatory purposes.
- Communicate with guests and provide safety information and assistance as needed.
- Respond to any safety concerns or emergencies on board and take appropriate action to mitigate risks.
- Conduct safety briefings for new crew members and ensure all crew members are aware of and follow safety protocols.
- Act as a liaison with regulatory agencies and participate in safety audits and inspections.
- Assist in the development and implementation of a safety culture on board the ship.
- Continuously assess and improve safety procedures to enhance the overall safety of guests and crew members on board.
Bachelor's Degree In Occupational Health And Safety, Environmental Science, Or Related Field.
Minimum Of 3 Years Experience In A Safety-Related Role, Preferably In The Maritime Industry.
Certification In Occupational Health And Safety (E.g. Osha, Nebosh) And Knowledge Of Relevant Safety Regulations And Standards.
Strong Communication And Leadership Skills To Effectively Implement And Enforce Safety Policies And Procedures.
Ability To Conduct Thorough Risk Assessments And Develop Emergency Response Plans For Various Scenarios.
