1. Develop and implement safety policies and procedures for all departments on board the ship.

3. Monitor the ship's safety equipment and systems, such as fire alarms, sprinklers, lifeboats, and life jackets, to ensure they are properly maintained and functioning.
4. Conduct safety drills and training sessions for crew members to prepare them for emergency situations.
5. Investigate and report any safety incidents or near-misses, and implement corrective actions to prevent future occurrences.
6. Collaborate with other departments, such as engineering and housekeeping, to ensure safety protocols are being followed and maintained.
7. Stay up-to-date on all safety regulations and industry standards to ensure compliance with international maritime laws.
8. Create and maintain safety manuals and documents, and ensure they are readily available to all crew members.
9. Serve as the main point of contact for guests and crew members regarding any safety concerns or questions.
10. Coordinate with port authorities and emergency response teams in case of a safety emergency.
11. Manage and maintain safety equipment inventory and order new supplies as needed.
12. Conduct safety training for new crew members and provide ongoing training for existing crew members.
13. Communicate safety policies, procedures, and updates to all crew members and ensure their understanding and adherence.
14. Act as a role model for safety by adhering to all safety protocols and leading by example.
15. Continuously identify areas for improvement and make recommendations for enhancing safety measures on board.
