As a Pastry Chef, you will play an integral role in creating delightful desserts and pastries for our guests to indulge in while enjoying their vacation at sea. We are looking for a highly skilled and creative individual who is passionate about pastry making and has a strong attention to detail.   1. Create and design unique and delicious dessert and pastry menus for our guests to enjoy on board our ships.
  2. Ensure that all pastries and desserts meet our high standards of quality, taste, and presentation.
  3. Manage inventory and ordering of ingredients and supplies needed for pastry making.
  4. Train and supervise pastry staff to ensure consistency and excellence in all pastry creations.
  5. Maintain a clean and organized pastry kitchen, following all health and safety guidelines.
  6. Collaborate with other culinary team members to develop cohesive and complementary menus.
  7. Stay updated on current food trends and incorporate them into pastry offerings.
  8. Work closely with the Food and Beverage Director to manage costs and budget for the pastry department.
  9. Communicate with guests and address any dietary restrictions or special requests for pastries.
  10. Continuously strive to improve and innovate pastry offerings to enhance the overall guest experience.
  11. Maintain a positive and professional attitude while working in a fast-paced, high-pressure environment.
  12. Adhere to all company policies and procedures, including food handling and safety guidelines.
  13. Act as an ambassador for the Royal Caribbean brand, promoting our commitment to providing exceptional culinary experiences.
  14. Collaborate with the entire culinary team to ensure a seamless and enjoyable experience for our guests.
  15. Attend training and development programs to enhance pastry making skills and stay updated on industry trends.

Job Qualifications
  • Culinary Degree Or Equivalent Experience: A Pastry Chef At Royal Caribbean Cruises Should Have A Culinary Degree Or Equivalent Experience In Pastry Arts. This Includes Formal Training In Baking, Pastry Techniques, And Cake Decorating.

  • Previous Experience In High-Volume Kitchen: The Ideal Candidate Should Have At Least 3-5 Years Of Experience Working In A High-Volume Kitchen, Preferably In A Hotel Or Cruise Ship Setting. This Will Ensure They Have The Necessary Skills To Handle The Demands Of A Busy Cruise Ship Kitchen.

  • Knowledge Of International Baking Techniques: As A Global Cruise Line, Royal Caribbean Cruises Caters To A Diverse Clientele. The Pastry Chef Should Be Familiar With International Baking Techniques And Be Able To Create A Wide Variety Of Desserts To Appeal To Different Tastes.

  • Menu Development And Cost Control Skills: The Pastry Chef Will Be Responsible For Creating And Updating The Dessert Menu On The Cruise Ship. They Should Have Experience In Menu Development And Cost Control To Ensure Profitability And Customer Satisfaction.

  • Strong Leadership And Teamwork Abilities: A Pastry Chef At Royal Caribbean Cruises Should Have Excellent Leadership And Teamwork Abilities. They Will Be Responsible For Managing A Team Of Pastry Cooks And Ensuring A Smooth Operation In The Pastry Department.
