1. Oversee and manage all maintenance operations on board the cruise ship, including scheduling and delegating tasks to maintenance staff.
2. Ensure that all maintenance activities are carried out in a timely and efficient manner, with minimal disruption to guests and operations.
3. Develop and implement preventative maintenance plans to ensure the safety and functionality of all ship systems.
4. Monitor and maintain inventory levels of necessary equipment and supplies, and coordinate with procurement team to order additional items as needed.
5. Conduct regular inspections and audits of all ship systems to identify potential issues and address them promptly.
6. Train and supervise maintenance staff, providing guidance and feedback to ensure high-quality work performance.
7. Collaborate with other departments, such as engineering and housekeeping, to coordinate maintenance activities and ensure smooth operation of the ship.
8. Monitor and adhere to budget constraints, finding cost-effective solutions for maintenance needs.
9. Maintain accurate records and documentation of maintenance activities, including work orders, repairs, and equipment maintenance schedules.
10. Stay up-to-date on industry trends and advancements in maintenance technology, and make recommendations for improvements to enhance the guest experience.
11. Ensure compliance with all safety regulations and company policies, reporting any safety hazards or incidents immediately.
12. Foster a positive and collaborative work environment, promoting teamwork and open communication among maintenance staff and other departments.
13. Handle guest inquiries and concerns related to maintenance issues, providing prompt and satisfactory resolutions.
14. Participate in regular meetings and training sessions to stay informed on company updates and procedures.
15. Perform other duties as assigned by the Cruise Director or other senior management.
