- Monitor and patrol store premises to prevent theft, vandalism, and other security threats.
- Maintain a visible and approachable presence in the store to deter potential criminal activity.
- Conduct thorough bag and merchandise checks at store exits to prevent shoplifting.
- Utilize surveillance equipment to monitor suspicious activity and report any concerns to management.
- Collaborate with store management to develop and implement security protocols and procedures.
- Train store associates on proper security measures and how to identify and handle potential security threats.
- Respond to and resolve any security incidents or emergencies in a calm and efficient manner.
- Maintain accurate records of all security-related incidents and report them to the appropriate authorities.
- Conduct investigations into any reported theft or security incidents and work with law enforcement as needed.
- Stay up-to-date on industry best practices and make recommendations for improving store security measures.
- Serve as a liaison between the store and law enforcement agencies when needed.
- Assist in the training and development of new Store Protection Specialists.
- Communicate effectively with customers and team members to address any security concerns or issues.
- Continuously monitor the store for potential safety hazards and take appropriate action to address them.
- Adhere to all company policies and procedures, as well as local, state, and federal laws regarding security and safety.
High School Diploma Or Equivalent: A Minimum Education Requirement For A Store Protection Specialist At Ross Stores Is A High School Diploma Or Equivalent. This Demonstrates Basic Knowledge And Understanding Of Core Academic Subjects.
Previous Retail Experience: Candidates With Previous Retail Experience, Especially In Loss Prevention Or Security Roles, Are Preferred For The Store Protection Specialist Position At Ross Stores. This Shows That The Candidate Has A Basic Understanding Of Store Operations And Security Procedures.
