- Monitor store entrances and exits to deter and prevent theft and ensure a safe shopping environment for customers.
- Observe customer behavior and identify suspicious or potentially harmful activity.
- Maintain a visible presence on the sales floor to deter theft and enforce company policies.
- Respond to and resolve any security or safety concerns in a timely and efficient manner.
- Conduct routine bag checks and inspections to ensure compliance with store policies.
- Collaborate with store management and team members to implement and enforce security measures.
- Utilize surveillance systems and technology to monitor store activity and identify potential security threats.
- Train and educate team members on store security procedures and best practices.
- Communicate effectively with customers, team members, and law enforcement when necessary.
- Complete detailed incident reports and maintain accurate records of security-related incidents.
- Regularly inspect and maintain security equipment and devices to ensure functionality.
- Stay up-to-date on industry trends and advancements in store security to continuously improve store protection strategies.
- Handle confidential and sensitive information with discretion and maintain the highest level of professionalism.

Previous Experience In Loss Prevention Or Security: Ross Stores Is Looking For Candidates Who Have Previous Experience In Loss Prevention Or Security, Preferably In A Retail Setting. This Experience Should Include Knowledge Of Surveillance Techniques, Theft Prevention Strategies, And Incident Reporting Procedures.
Strong Communication And Interpersonal Skills: Store Protection Specialists Must Be Able To Communicate Effectively With Both Customers And Store Employees. This Includes The Ability To Diffuse Potentially Volatile Situations And Provide Excellent Customer Service While Also Enforcing Store Policies And Procedures.
Knowledge Of Store Operations And Inventory Management: As A Store Protection Specialist, It Is Important To Have A Comprehensive Understanding Of Store Operations And Inventory Management. This Includes Knowledge Of Store Layouts, Merchandise Flow, And Inventory Tracking Systems.
Attention To Detail And Strong Observation Skills: The Role Of A Store Protection Specialist Requires Constant Vigilance And The Ability To Identify Suspicious Behavior Or Potential Theft.
