- Monitor and patrol store premises to prevent theft, vandalism, and other security threats.
- Conduct regular inspections of store exits, entrances, and high-theft areas.
- Respond to and resolve any security incidents or concerns in a timely and professional manner.
- Collaborate with store management and other team members to identify and address potential security risks.
- Assist in the implementation and enforcement of store security policies and procedures.
- Utilize surveillance equipment to monitor store activity and identify suspicious behavior.
- Conduct thorough bag checks and inspections of merchandise leaving the store.
- Train and educate store associates on security procedures and best practices.
- Provide exceptional customer service by assisting customers with any security-related inquiries or concerns.
- Prepare and maintain detailed reports on security incidents, investigations, and any other relevant information.
- Work closely with local law enforcement when necessary.
- Attend and participate in security training and meetings.
- Maintain a professional and approachable demeanor at all times.
- Keep up-to-date with industry standards and practices related to store security.
Knowledge Of Loss Prevention Strategies And Techniques: A Store Protection Specialist At Ross Stores Should Possess A Strong Understanding Of Loss Prevention Methods And The Ability To Effectively Implement Them In A Retail Environment.
Experience In Investigative Procedures: This Role Requires Experience In Conducting Investigations Related To Theft, Fraud, And Other Security Incidents. Knowledge Of Proper Evidence Collection And Documentation Is Important.
Proficiency In Surveillance Technology: A Store Protection Specialist Should Be Familiar With Various Surveillance Technologies, Such As Cctv Systems And Electronic Article Surveillance (Eas) Systems, To Monitor And Prevent Theft And Other Security Breaches.
Strong Communication And Interpersonal Skills: The Ability To Communicate Effectively With Customers, Employees, And Law Enforcement Is Crucial In This Role. A Store Protection Specialist Should Be Able To Diffuse Tense Situations And Handle Conflicts In A Professional Manner.
Physical Fitness And Agility: This Role May Require Physical Activities Such As Standing For Long Periods, Chasing And Apprehending Suspects, And Lifting And Moving Heavy Objects. Candidates Should Be In Good Physical Shape And Able To Perform These Duties With Ease.
