Job Description

We are currently seeking a motivated and experienced Area Supervisor to join our team and help us continue to provide exceptional customer service and support to our stores across the country. As an Area Supervisor, you will have the opportunity to lead and develop a team of Store Managers, drive sales and ensure operational excellence.   1. Oversee and manage a team of Store Managers to ensure consistent and exceptional customer service is provided at all Ross Stores locations.
  2. Drive sales and meet or exceed revenue targets by implementing effective strategies and monitoring store performance.
  3. Develop and implement operational procedures and policies to ensure efficient and effective store operations.
  4. Train and mentor Store Managers in areas such as leadership, customer service, and sales techniques.
  5. Conduct regular store visits to monitor and evaluate store performance, provide feedback, and identify areas for improvement.
  6. Collaborate with other Area Supervisors and upper management to share best practices and drive company-wide initiatives.
  7. Ensure compliance with company policies and procedures, as well as local, state, and federal regulations.
  8. Handle escalated customer complaints and resolve issues in a timely and satisfactory manner.
  9. Monitor inventory levels and work with Store Managers to ensure proper merchandise assortments and stock levels are maintained.
  10. Identify and address any staffing needs or performance issues within the store team.
  11. Stay updated on industry trends, market conditions, and competitor strategies to make informed decisions and drive business growth.
  12. Represent the company in a professional and positive manner at all times.
  13. Foster a positive and collaborative work environment that promotes teamwork, open communication, and employee development.
  14. Create and maintain reports on store performance, sales, and key metrics for upper management.
  15. Participate in the hiring and onboarding process for new Store Managers and other team members.

Job Qualifications
  • Strong Leadership Skills: As An Area Supervisor, One Must Possess Strong Leadership Skills To Effectively Manage And Motivate A Team Of Employees. This Includes The Ability To Delegate Tasks, Provide Guidance And Support, And Make Difficult Decisions When Necessary.

  • Retail Experience: A Minimum Of 2-3 Years Of Experience In The Retail Industry Is Typically Required For An Area Supervisor Position. This Experience Should Include Working In A Supervisory Or Managerial Role, With A Strong Understanding Of Store Operations, Sales, And Customer Service.

  • Excellent Communication Skills: Effective Communication Is Crucial For An Area Supervisor To Successfully Interact With Employees, Customers, And Upper Management. This Includes Verbal And Written Communication, As Well As Active Listening And Conflict Resolution Skills.

  • Organizational And Time Management Skills: As An Area Supervisor, One Must Be Able To Multitask, Prioritize, And Manage Their Time Effectively. This Includes Overseeing Multiple Store Locations, Managing Schedules, And Ensuring Tasks And Projects Are Completed In A Timely Manner.

  • Knowledge Of Company Policies And Procedures: A Strong Understanding Of Company Policies And Procedures Is Important For An Area Supervisor To Ensure Consistency And Compliance Across All Store Locations. This Includes Knowledge Of Inventory Management, Loss Prevention, And Employee Training Programs.
