  1. Conduct thorough risk assessments and hazard analyses for submarine technology to identify potential safety hazards and develop risk mitigation strategies.

  3. Monitor and evaluate the effectiveness of safety measures and make recommendations for improvements as needed.
  4. Stay up-to-date on industry standards and regulations related to submarine safety and ensure compliance with these standards.
  5. Investigate and analyze safety incidents to determine root causes and develop preventative measures to avoid similar incidents in the future.
  6. Develop and maintain detailed safety documentation, including reports, procedures, and manuals.
  7. Conduct safety training and provide guidance to team members on safety protocols and procedures.
  8. Participate in design reviews and provide input on potential safety risks and concerns.
  9. Collaborate with external stakeholders, such as regulatory bodies and customers, to ensure safety standards and requirements are met.

Job Qualifications
  • Experience In Submarine Safety Regulations And Standards: The Ideal Candidate Should Have A Strong Understanding Of Submarine Safety Regulations And Standards Such As Mil-Std-882 And Aecma S1000D.

  • Knowledge Of Submarine Systems And Equipment: A Safety Engineer For Submarines At Rolls-Royce Holdings Should Have A Thorough Understanding Of Submarine Systems And Equipment, Including Propulsion, Navigation, And Communication Systems.

  • Familiarity With Safety Analysis Techniques: The Candidate Should Possess A Good Understanding Of Safety Analysis Techniques Such As Hazard And Operability (Hazop), Fault Tree Analysis (Fta), And Failure Modes And Effects Analysis (Fmea).

  • Strong Communication And Problem-Solving Skills: As A Safety Engineer, The Candidate Will Be Working Closely With Various Teams And Stakeholders. Therefore, Excellent Communication And Problem-Solving Skills Are Essential For Success In This Role.

  • Relevant Education And Certifications: A Bachelor's Or Master's Degree In Engineering, Preferably In Marine Or Naval Engineering, Is Required For This Role. Additionally, Certifications In Safety Management Or Risk Management Would Be An Added Advantage.
