Senior Principal Network Engineer

Rockwell Collins is seeking an experienced and motivated Senior Principal Network Engineer to join our team. As a Senior Principal Network Engineer, you will be responsible for designing, installing, configuring and maintaining enterprise-level networks. The ideal candidate must have a strong understanding of networking technologies, protocols, and security practices, as well as excellent problem-solving and troubleshooting skills. Qualifications: • Bachelor's degree in Computer Science, Information Technology, or a related field • Minimum of 10 years of experience in a network engineering role • Extensive experience with networking protocols, routing, switching, and security • Knowledge of network design, installation, and maintenance best practices • Experience with VoIP and video conferencing technologies • CCNP certification and/or equivalent knowledge • Strong troubleshooting and problem-solving skills • Excellent verbal and written communication skills

Responsibilities:

1. Design, install, configure, and maintain enterprise-level networks.
2. Analyze network performance and implement upgrades as needed.
3. Monitor network traffic and performance, and identify potential security threats and risks.
4. Troubleshoot and resolve technical issues in a timely manner.
5. Develop and maintain system documentation and diagrams.
6. Implement changes and upgrades in accordance with best practices.
7. Work with vendors to ensure optimal hardware and software solutions.
8. Stay up to date with the latest network technologies and security trends.
9. Mentor and train junior network engineers.
10. Participate in networking conferences and events.
