Senior Manager, Accounting & Controllership

- Develop and implement accounting policies and procedures to ensure accurate and timely financial reporting.
- Oversee and manage the day-to-day operations of the accounting department, including accounts payable, accounts receivable, and general ledger.
- Prepare and review financial statements, ensuring compliance with GAAP and company policies.
- Lead and mentor a team of accounting professionals, setting goals and providing ongoing feedback and development opportunities.
- Monitor and analyze financial data to identify areas for improvement and make strategic recommendations to senior management.
- Collaborate with cross-functional teams to ensure accurate and timely completion of month-end and year-end close processes.
- Ensure compliance with all regulatory requirements, including tax filings and audits.
- Identify and implement process improvements to increase efficiency and accuracy within the accounting function.
- Serve as a key point of contact for external auditors and regulatory agencies.
- Stay current on accounting standards and regulations, and provide guidance to the team on any changes that may impact financial reporting.
- Develop and maintain strong relationships with internal stakeholders, including finance, operations, and senior leadership.
- Act as a strategic partner to senior management, providing financial insights and analysis to support decision-making.
- Manage and oversee special projects and initiatives related to accounting and controllership.
- Communicate effectively with all levels of the organization, presenting financial information in a clear and concise manner.
- Foster a culture of continuous improvement and innovation within the accounting department.
Extensive Experience In Accounting And Controllership: A Senior Manager At Rockwell Collins Should Have At Least 10 Years Of Experience In Accounting And Controllership, With A Deep Understanding Of All Financial And Accounting Principles And Practices.
Strong Leadership Skills: This Role Requires A Strong Leader Who Can Effectively Manage And Motivate A Team Of Accountants And Controllers. The Ideal Candidate Should Have A Proven Track Record Of Successfully Leading Teams And Driving Results.
Strategic Thinking: A Senior Manager Should Have The Ability To Think Strategically And Make Sound Decisions That Align With The Company's Goals And Objectives. This Includes Identifying And Implementing Process Improvements And Cost-Saving Measures.
Excellent Communication Skills: Effective Communication Is Critical In This Role, As The Senior Manager Will Need To Interact With Various Stakeholders, Including Senior Leaders, Auditors, And External Partners. The Candidate Should Possess Strong Written And Verbal Communication Skills.
Advanced Degree And Certifications: A Bachelor's Degree In Accounting, Finance, Or A Related Field Is Required For This Role, And A Master's Degree Is Preferred. Additionally, A Cpa Or Cma Certification Is Highly Desirable, Showcasing The Candidate's Expertise And Commitment To The Field.
