- Ensure compliance with all customs and import regulations for Rockwell Collins, both domestically and internationally.
- Develop and maintain relationships with customs and import authorities to stay current on regulations and changes that may impact the company.
- Collaborate with cross-functional teams to develop and implement strategic plans to optimize supply chain processes and reduce costs related to customs and import.
- Lead and manage the customs and import team, providing direction, training, and support to ensure timely and accurate completion of all customs and import-related tasks.
- Review and analyze import data, identifying areas for improvement and implementing solutions to increase efficiency and reduce risk.
- Prepare and submit all necessary documentation, including customs entry forms, duty drawback claims, and import/export licenses.
- Conduct internal audits to ensure compliance with customs and import laws and regulations.
- Identify and resolve any issues or discrepancies with customs and import documentation and processes.
- Develop and maintain relationships with suppliers and vendors to ensure compliance with customs and import regulations.
- Stay up-to-date on changes in customs and import laws and regulations, and communicate any updates to relevant stakeholders within the company.
- Collaborate with legal and finance teams to handle any customs or import-related legal issues.
- Develop and maintain policies and procedures related to customs and import compliance.
- Provide guidance and support for international trade transactions and related activities.

Extensive Knowledge Of Customs And Import Regulations: The Ideal Candidate Should Have A Deep Understanding Of International Trade Laws And Regulations, Including Customs Valuation, Tariff Classification, And Country Of Origin Rules.
Strong Analytical And Problem-Solving Skills: As A Principal Specialist, Customs/Import, The Candidate Must Be Able To Analyze Complex Import Scenarios, Identify Potential Issues, And Develop Effective Solutions In A Timely Manner.
Experience In Managing Customs Compliance: The Candidate Should Have A Proven Track Record Of Successfully Managing Customs Compliance Programs, Including Import/Export Record-Keeping, Duty Drawback, And Customs Audits.
Excellent Communication And Interpersonal Skills: The Principal Specialist, Customs/Import Will Be Required To Work Closely With Various Internal Teams, External Stakeholders, And Government Agencies. Therefore, The Candidate Must Possess Strong Communication And Interpersonal Skills To Build And Maintain Effective Relationships.
Advanced Degree In International Trade Or Related Field: A Master's Degree In International Trade, Supply Chain Management, Or A Related Field Is Highly Desirable For This Role. It Demonstrates A Strong Academic Background And A Deep Understanding Of Global Trade Practices.
