1. Develop and maintain a thorough understanding of all relevant certification, qualification, and testing processes and regulations in the aviation industry.
2. Lead a team of engineers to ensure that all mechanical components and systems meet necessary safety and reliability standards for aerospace products.
3. Collaborate with cross-functional teams, including design, production, and quality, to ensure timely and efficient completion of all certification and testing activities.
4. Develop and implement testing plans and procedures for new and existing products, including conducting tests and analyzing results.
5. Stay up-to-date with advancements and changes in industry standards and regulations, and make recommendations for process improvements as needed.
6. Create and maintain detailed documentation of all certification and testing processes, results, and reports for audit purposes.
7. Communicate regularly with internal and external stakeholders, including regulatory agencies and customers, to provide updates and ensure compliance with all necessary standards.
8. Lead the investigation and resolution of any certification or testing issues, including developing corrective actions and implementing solutions.
9. Mentor and develop team members, providing guidance and support to ensure their continued growth and success.
10. Participate in design reviews and provide input on design modifications to ensure compliance with certification and testing requirements.
11. Collaborate with other departments to identify potential risks and develop risk mitigation strategies for products.
12. Act as a subject matter expert and provide technical guidance to other teams within the company.
13. Continuously evaluate and improve processes and procedures to ensure efficient and effective certification, qualification, and testing practices.
14. Represent the company in meetings and discussions with regulatory agencies and industry partners.
15. Stay informed about industry trends and advancements in certification and testing methods, and make recommendations for their implementation in the company's processes.
