1. Dispense medications accurately and efficiently according to established procedures and guidelines.
2. Check prescriptions for possible interactions, allergies, and contraindications.
3. Provide medication counseling to patients, including proper usage, potential side effects, and drug interactions.
4. Collaborate with other healthcare professionals to ensure optimal patient care.
5. Maintain accurate and current patient profiles and medication records.
6. Monitor inventory levels and order medications and supplies as needed.
7. Oversee the work of pharmacy technicians and provide guidance and training as needed.
8. Ensure compliance with all federal and state laws and regulations regarding pharmacy practice.
9. Stay updated on new drugs, drug therapies, and pharmacy techniques through continuing education.
10. Assist in resolving any customer complaints or concerns related to pharmacy services.
11. Maintain a clean and organized work environment to promote a safe and efficient workflow.
12. Participate in quality improvement initiatives to enhance patient care and increase efficiency.
13. Collaborate with insurance companies to process claims and resolve any issues.
14. Adhere to company policies and procedures, including HIPAA regulations, to protect patient confidentiality.
15. Act as a positive representative of Rite Aid and promote the company's values and mission.
16. Continuously maintain and improve professional knowledge and skills through participation in educational opportunities.
17. Perform other duties as assigned by the Pharmacy Manager or Store Manager.
