- Assist in the preparation and distribution of prescription medications.
- Provide exceptional customer service to all patients and customers.
- Maintain a clean and organized work environment.
- Accurately enter and maintain patient and prescription information in the pharmacy computer system.
- Communicate effectively with pharmacists and other healthcare professionals.
- Handle cash transactions and process insurance claims.
- Ensure compliance with all pharmacy laws and regulations.
- Assist in inventory management and ordering supplies.
- Train and mentor new pharmacy technicians.
- Handle customer inquiries and concerns in a professional and timely manner.
- Follow proper procedures for handling and disposing of pharmaceutical products.
- Maintain patient confidentiality and adhere to HIPAA guidelines.
- Continuously update knowledge and skills through ongoing training and education.
- Perform other duties as assigned by the pharmacy manager.
High School Diploma Or Equivalent: A Minimum Education Requirement For A Pharmacy Technician Or Technician Trainee Position At Rite Aid Is A High School Diploma Or Ged. This Ensures That Candidates Have A Basic Level Of Education And Are Able To Understand And Follow Instructions Accurately.
Pharmacy Technician Certification: Rite Aid Prefers Candidates Who Are Certified As A Pharmacy Technician By The Pharmacy Technician Certification Board (Ptcb). This Certification Demonstrates That The Candidate Has The Necessary Knowledge And Skills To Perform The Job Duties Effectively And Safely.
Excellent Customer Service Skills: Pharmacy Technicians At Rite Aid Are Expected To Interact With Customers On A Daily Basis. Therefore, Candidates Should Possess Excellent Communication And Customer Service Skills To Provide A Positive And Professional Experience For Customers.
Knowledge Of Pharmacy Operations: Candidates Should Have A Basic Understanding Of Pharmacy Operations, Including Pharmaceutical Calculations, Prescription Processing, And Inventory Management. This Knowledge Is Essential For Performing Tasks Accurately And Efficiently.
Ability To Work Flexible Hours: Pharmacy Technicians At Rite Aid May Be Required To Work Evenings, Weekends, And Holidays, As Pharmacies Are Often Open During These Times. Candidates Should Be Able To Work A Flexible Schedule To Meet The Needs Of The Pharmacy's Operating Hours.
