  1. Plan, coordinate, and execute all athletic events and facility rentals at Rice University.
  2. Work closely with athletes, coaches, and staff to ensure the success of events.
  3. Develop and maintain a comprehensive event and rental schedule for all athletic facilities.
  4. Manage all aspects of event logistics, including staffing, equipment, and facility setup.
  5. Communicate with event stakeholders, including vendors, sponsors, and community partners.
  6. Oversee event budget and ensure all expenses are kept within budgetary constraints.
  7. Maintain accurate records of event details, including attendance, revenue, and feedback.
  8. Collaborate with marketing and communications teams to promote and market events.
  9. Develop and implement protocols for event safety and emergency procedures.
  10. Hire, train, and supervise event staff and volunteers.
  11. Stay up-to-date with industry trends and make recommendations for improvement and innovation.
  12. Develop and maintain positive relationships with internal and external stakeholders.
  13. Participate in meetings and committees to represent the athletic events and rentals department.
  14. Handle any issues or concerns that may arise during events and find solutions in a timely manner.
  15. Assist in the development and implementation of long-term strategic plans for the department.

Job Qualifications
  • Bachelor's Degree In Sports Management, Event Management, Or A Related Field.

  • At Least 3 Years Of Experience In Event Planning And Management, Preferably In A Collegiate Or Athletic Environment.

  • Strong Communication And Interpersonal Skills, With The Ability To Work Collaboratively With Various Stakeholders Including Coaches, Staff, And External Vendors.

  • Experience In Managing Rental Agreements And Contracts, Including Negotiating Terms And Ensuring Compliance.

  • Knowledge Of Ncaa Rules And Regulations, As Well As Experience In Budget Management And Financial Reporting.
