Garment Technologist, Womenswear

We are looking for a passionate and experienced Garment Technologist to join our Womenswear team at Reiss London. This role is an extremely important part of our business and requires excellent garment construction knowledge as well as strong communication skills and the ability to work within a team. The successful candidate will be highly organized and able to work in a fast-paced environment.To be successful in this position, you must possess a minimum of 3 years’ experience in the fashion industry, preferably in a similar role. You must have a high level of technical knowledge and be familiar with the garment production process from development through to delivery. Additionally, strong analytical and problem solving skills are essential to this role.

Responsibilities:

1. Provide technical advice and support in the design, development and production of Womenswear garments.
2. Analyze and assess design specifications to ensure quality standards are met.
3. Provide detailed technical reports on all aspects of garment construction and recommend appropriate solutions.
4. Maintain accurate garment testing records and provide feedback on results.
5. Assist in the selection and evaluation of fabrics, trims, and other materials.
6. Monitor quality assurance throughout the production process.
7. Liaise with manufacturing partners to ensure garments are being produced to specification.
8. Communicate effectively with other departments and teams, including design, buying, and merchandising.
9. Keep up to date with industry trends and ensure compliance with legal and ethical standards.
10. Develop and maintain relationships with suppliers and industry contacts.
