- Enforce laws and regulations to maintain a safe and secure public transportation system.
- Patrol designated areas to deter and prevent criminal activity.

Minimum Education Requirements: The Transit Police Officer Must Possess A High School Diploma Or Equivalent. A College Degree In Criminal Justice Or Related Field Is Preferred.
Law Enforcement Experience: Candidates Must Have A Minimum Of 3 Years Of Experience In Law Enforcement, Preferably In A Transit Or Public Transportation Setting.
Physical Fitness: The Job Of A Transit Police Officer Is Physically Demanding And Requires Candidates To Pass A Physical Fitness Test As Part Of The Hiring Process. This Includes The Ability To Run, Lift And Carry Heavy Objects, And Engage In Physical Altercations If Necessary.
Firearm Training And Certification: Transit Police Officers Are Required To Carry Firearms And Must Have Completed A Certified Law Enforcement Firearms Training Course. Candidates Must Also Have A Valid Colorado Driver's License.
Background Check And Psychological Evaluation: Candidates Must Pass A Thorough Background Check And Psychological Evaluation Before Being Considered For The Position. This Includes A Review Of Criminal History, Driving Record, And Credit History. A Clean Record Is Essential For This Role.
