Job Description

For this position, RAND is seeking to hire an experienced expert in all aspects of the national security cyber mission. Responsibilities include leading research related to national security cyber challenges and supporting and providing strategic and conceptual support and advice to senior leaders in a variety of Department of Defense, Intelligence Community, Homeland Security, and Justice organizations. Senior technical researchers lead research project teams that conducting analyses such as vulnerability and threat analysis, modeling and simulation, data and information flow mapping, quantitative risk analysis, and network analysis. These researchers apply quantitative and qualitative skills to analyze policy problems of national and international importance related to the cyber environment, and communicate the results of these analyses to decision-makers.

Job Qualifications
  • A PhD in a relevant field is strongly preferred

  • At least ten years of relevant cyber, information security, and/or similar technical cyber-related experience

  • Cyber-enabled intelligence collection experience or knowledge

  • Cyber operations (government or private sector)
