Community-Partnered Policy and Action Director

Lead the continuing design, development, piloting, evaluation and operation of the Community-Partnered Policy and Action Stream. Develop and implement Community-Partnered Stream curriculum within the Pardee RAND Ph.D. program. Continue the development and establishment of academic requirements for Community-Partnered Stream Ph.D. students and for monitoring of relevant outcomes. Supervise the work of an Administrative. Assistant and oversee the work of a Policy Analyst. Work with the Assistant Dean of Academic Affairs to identify, evaluate, and recruit Community-Partnered Stream faculty from within the RAND research staff and, as needed, external to RAND. Develop requirements for recruiting and selecting Professors of Practice from within partner communities. Also involved is space design, equipment purchases, and of importance – demonstrating sensitivity to diverse community contexts/histories, priorities, and values. Develop partnerships with community members and organizations including government, nonprofits/NGOs, the business community, and academia, in order to establish externships and residencies in selected communities. Mentor students working within the Community-Partnered Policy and Action Stream and/or teach courses or workshops.
