- Provide specialized care to patients with complex wounds and ostomies.
- Conduct thorough assessments of patients' wounds and ostomies, including monitoring for signs of infection or complications.
- Develop and implement individualized care plans for patients, based on their specific needs and conditions.
- Administer prescribed treatments and medications for wound and ostomy care.
- Educate patients and their families on proper wound and ostomy care techniques, including prevention and management of complications.
- Collaborate with other healthcare team members to ensure comprehensive and coordinated care for patients.
- Maintain accurate and up-to-date patient records, including progress notes and treatment plans.
- Monitor and evaluate patient outcomes, making necessary adjustments to care plans as needed.
- Stay current on best practices and advancements in wound and ostomy care, and incorporate them into practice.
- Adhere to hospital policies and procedures, as well as state and federal regulations, related to wound and ostomy care.
- Provide emotional support and compassionate care to patients and their families during difficult times.
- Serve as an advocate for patients, ensuring their needs and concerns are addressed.
- Act as a resource and mentor to other healthcare team members, including nurses and nursing assistants.
- Participate in quality improvement initiatives and contribute to the development of evidence-based practices for wound and ostomy care.
- Maintain a professional and caring demeanor at all times, promoting the hospital's values of compassion and excellence.
Bachelor's Or Master's Degree In Nursing From An Accredited Institution.
Current Rn License In The State Of Montana.
Wound Ostomy Continence Nursing (Wocn) Certification.
Minimum Of 2 Years Of Experience In Wound Care And/Or Ostomy Management.
Knowledge And Proficiency In Evidence-Based Wound And Ostomy Care Techniques, Including Assessment, Treatment, And Patient Education.
