Job Description

If so, we have an exciting opportunity for you! Providence St. Patrick Hospital is seeking a dedicated Recreational Therapist to join our PACE program. In this role, you will use your therapeutic expertise to develop and implement engaging recreational programs for our participants. As a key member of our team, you will have the opportunity to make a positive impact on the lives of our aging population. To be successful in this role, you must have a Bachelor's degree in Recreational Therapy and be a licensed Recreational Therapist.   1. Develop and implement engaging recreational programs for older adults in the PACE program.
  2. Utilize therapeutic expertise to create activities that address the physical, emotional, and cognitive needs of participants.
  3. Collaborate with interdisciplinary team members to ensure the integration of recreational therapy into overall care plans.
  4. Conduct initial assessments to determine the individual needs and interests of each participant.
  5. Plan and organize group and individual activities that promote physical, social, and emotional well-being.
  6. Monitor and document the progress and participation of participants in recreational therapy programs.
  7. Evaluate the effectiveness of programs and make necessary adjustments to meet the changing needs of participants.
  8. Maintain accurate records and reports in compliance with regulatory guidelines.
  9. Educate and train staff and caregivers on the benefits and techniques of recreational therapy.
  10. Ensure the safety and well-being of participants during all recreational activities.
  11. Stay updated on the latest research and best practices in recreational therapy for the aging population.
  12. Uphold ethical and professional standards in all interactions with participants, families, and team members.
  13. Continuously evaluate and improve the recreational therapy program to meet the needs and preferences of participants.
  14. Act as an advocate for the importance of recreational therapy in promoting the quality of life for older adults.
  15. Collaborate with community organizations and volunteers to provide a variety of recreational opportunities for participants.

Job Qualifications
  • Bachelor's Degree In Recreational Therapy Or A Related Field From An Accredited Institution.

  • Certification As A Therapeutic Recreation Specialist (Ctrs) From The National Council For Therapeutic Recreation Certification (Nctrc).

  • Minimum Of 2 Years Of Experience Working As A Recreational Therapist, Preferably In A Healthcare Setting.

  • Knowledge Of Pace (Program Of All-Inclusive Care For The Elderly) Regulations And Guidelines.

  • Strong Interpersonal Skills And The Ability To Work Effectively With A Diverse Population, Including Geriatric Patients, Caregivers, And Healthcare Professionals.
