- Accurately and efficiently process and fulfill medication orders for long term care patients.
- Maintain a thorough understanding of all medications and their potential side effects to ensure safe and effective administration.
- Collaborate with pharmacists and healthcare team members to ensure proper medication management and patient care.
- Utilize computer systems to accurately input and retrieve patient information, medication orders, and inventory levels.
- Maintain a clean and organized work area to ensure compliance with safety and regulatory standards.
- Communicate effectively with patients, caregivers, and healthcare team members to provide exceptional customer service.
- Maintain confidentiality of patient information and adhere to HIPAA guidelines.
- Verify and document patient insurance and billing information.
- Restock and maintain inventory levels of medication and supplies.
- Assist in the preparation and packaging of medications for delivery to long term care facilities.
- Adhere to all hospital policies and procedures, including safety and infection control protocols.
- Attend and participate in training and educational opportunities to stay current on industry developments, regulations, and best practices.
- Provide compassionate and empathetic care to patients and their families.
- Perform other duties as assigned by the pharmacy manager or supervising pharmacist.
High School Diploma Or Equivalent: A Minimum Education Requirement For This Position Is A High School Diploma Or Equivalent. This Demonstrates Basic Knowledge And Understanding Of Math, Science, And Communication Skills That Are Necessary For The Role.
Certified Pharmacy Technician (Cpht): In Addition To A High School Diploma, Candidates Should Hold A Certification As A Pharmacy Technician. This Certification Ensures That The Individual Has Completed A Training Program And Passed A Certification Exam, Demonstrating Their Knowledge And Competence In The Field.
Prior Experience In A Long Term Care Pharmacy: Experience In A Long Term Care Pharmacy Setting Is Highly Desirable For This Position.
