  1. Accurately and efficiently process and fulfill medication orders for long term care patients.
  2. Maintain a thorough understanding of all medications and their potential side effects to ensure safe and effective administration.
  3. Collaborate with pharmacists and healthcare team members to ensure proper medication management and patient care.
  4. Utilize computer systems to accurately input and retrieve patient information, medication orders, and inventory levels.
  5. Maintain a clean and organized work area to ensure compliance with safety and regulatory standards.
  6. Communicate effectively with patients, caregivers, and healthcare team members to provide exceptional customer service.
  7. Maintain confidentiality of patient information and adhere to HIPAA guidelines.
  8. Verify and document patient insurance and billing information.
  9. Restock and maintain inventory levels of medication and supplies.
  10. Assist in the preparation and packaging of medications for delivery to long term care facilities.
  11. Adhere to all hospital policies and procedures, including safety and infection control protocols.
  12. Attend and participate in training and educational opportunities to stay current on industry developments, regulations, and best practices.
  13. Provide compassionate and empathetic care to patients and their families.
  14. Perform other duties as assigned by the pharmacy manager or supervising pharmacist.

Job Qualifications
  • High School Diploma Or Equivalent: A Minimum Education Requirement For This Position Is A High School Diploma Or Equivalent. This Demonstrates Basic Knowledge And Understanding Of Math, Science, And Communication Skills That Are Necessary For The Role.

  • Certified Pharmacy Technician (Cpht): In Addition To A High School Diploma, Candidates Should Hold A Certification As A Pharmacy Technician.   • Prior Experience In A Long Term Care Pharmacy: Experience In A Long Term Care Pharmacy Setting Is Highly Desirable For This Position. It Shows That The Candidate Is Familiar With The Processes And Procedures Specific To This Type Of Pharmacy, Such As Medication Packaging And Dispensing For Long-Term Care Facilities.

  • Excellent Attention To Detail: Accuracy Is Crucial In The Role Of A Pharmacy Technician, Particularly In A Long-Term Care Setting Where Patients May Have Multiple Medications And Dosages. The Ability To Pay Close Attention To Detail Is Essential To Ensure Patient Safety And Avoid Medication Errors.

  • Strong Customer Service Skills: As A Pharmacy Technician In A Long-Term Care Pharmacy, The Candidate Will Interact With Patients, Their Families, And Healthcare Providers On A Daily Basis.
