- Collaborate with healthcare professionals to develop and implement nutrition plans for patients.
- Monitor and record patients' food intake and report any concerns to the appropriate healthcare team members.
- Educate patients on the importance of proper nutrition and provide guidance on healthy eating habits.
- Maintain cleanliness and organization of food service areas, including stocking and restocking supplies.
- Prepare and serve meals according to dietary restrictions and preferences.
- Monitor and maintain food safety and sanitation standards.
- Communicate effectively with patients, families, and healthcare professionals to ensure proper nutrition is being delivered.
- Provide excellent customer service to enhance the patient experience.
- Stay current on industry trends and best practices related to nutrition and food service.
High School Diploma: A Minimum Requirement For A Nutrition Attendant At Providence St. Patrick Hospital Is A High School Diploma Or Equivalent.
Knowledge Of Nutrition And Dietary Guidelines: Candidates Should Have A Basic Understanding Of Nutrition And Dietary Guidelines, Including Knowledge Of Food Groups, Portion Sizes, And Special Dietary Restrictions.
Experience In Food Service: Previous Experience In Food Service, Such As Working In A Restaurant Or Cafeteria, Is Preferred For This Position. This Will Demonstrate An Understanding Of Food Handling And Preparation Standards.
Excellent Communication Skills: As A Nutrition Attendant, Strong Communication Skills Are Essential For Interacting With Patients, Their Families, And Healthcare Staff. This Includes The Ability To Explain Dietary Options And Restrictions Clearly And Effectively.
