  1. Provide direct patient care to premature and critically ill newborns in the NICU.
  2. Serve as a member of the interdisciplinary team, collaborating with physicians, nurses, and other healthcare professionals to provide comprehensive care to patients.
  3. Conduct physical assessments and develop treatment plans for newborns in the NICU.
  4. Interpret diagnostic tests and make appropriate interventions based on results.
  5. Administer medications and perform procedures in accordance with established protocols.
  6. Educate and support families of newborns in the NICU, providing them with information and resources to help them understand and cope with their child's condition.
  7. Monitor and document patient progress, including vital signs, response to treatment, and changes in condition.
  8. Utilize critical thinking skills to make prompt and accurate decisions in emergency situations.
  9. Participate in quality improvement initiatives to enhance patient outcomes and promote a culture of continuous improvement.
  10. Keep abreast of advancements in neonatal care and incorporate evidence-based practices into clinical practice.
  11. Serve as a mentor and resource for less experienced nurses and healthcare professionals in the NICU.
  12. Maintain accurate and up-to-date patient records and documentation.
  13. Adhere to hospital policies and procedures, as well as state and federal regulations, to ensure the safety and well-being of patients.
  14. Collaborate with community resources and organizations to provide support and resources to families of NICU patients.
  15. Uphold the hospital's mission and values, providing compassionate and patient-centered care at all times.

Job Qualifications
  • Current Rn License And Advanced Practice Nursing Certification As A Neonatal Nurse Practitioner

  • Minimum Of 2 Years Of Experience Working In A Level Iii Or Higher Neonatal Intensive Care Unit (Nicu)

  • Ability To Work Independently And Collaboratively With A Multidisciplinary Team To Provide Comprehensive Care For Critically Ill Neonates

  • Strong Clinical Skills And Knowledge In Neonatology, Including Proficiency In Advanced Procedures Such As Intubation, Central Line Placement, And Chest Tube Insertion

  • Excellent Communication And Interpersonal Skills, With The Ability To Provide Education And Support To Families Of Hospitalized Neonates
