
Medical Physicist - Oncology
Providence St. Patrick Hospital is looking for an experienced and highly motivated Medical Physicist - Oncology to join our team. The successful candidate will be an integral part of the Radiation Oncology department, working to provide high quality patient care and ensure safety standards are met. The ideal candidate will have a strong background in medical physics, comprehensive knowledge of radiation safety, and a passion for improving patient care. Required qualifications include:-Doctoral degree in Medical Physics and board certification by the American Board of Radiology (ABR)-Minimum of five years of clinical experience in radiation oncology-Thorough knowledge of radiation safety and quality assurance-Ability to collaborate with physicians, staff, and other health care professionals-Demonstrated ability to lead and mentor other medical physicists-Excellent written and verbal communication skills
Responsibilities:
-Provide high quality patient care and ensure radiation safety standards are met -Develop and implement radiation oncology treatment plans -Perform calculations to determine radiation doses and treatment times -Monitor patient radiation dose and treatment progress -Conduct research and consult with physicians regarding radiation oncology treatments -Develop quality assurance protocols and ensure safety standards are met -Perform patient dosimetry measurements and radiation safety inspections -Mentor and supervise radiation oncology medical physicists -Provide educational resources and training to medical staff -Write reports and articles about radiation oncology treatments and safety protocols -Participate in conferences and meetings related to radiation oncology and medical physics
Ability To Work Collaboratively With A Multidisciplinary Team
Master's Degree In Medical Physics
Certification As A Medical Physicist
Minimum Of Two Years Of Experience In A Clinical Radiation Oncology Setting
Knowledge Of Radiation Safety Regulations
Proficiency With Radiation Therapy Treatment Planning Systems
Ability To Effectively Communicate With Medical Staff
