Medical Assistant - Dermatology

We are seeking a detail-oriented and compassionate Medical Assistant to join our Dermatology team at Providence St. Patrick Hospital. In this role, you will be responsible for providing a variety of clinical and clerical support services for dermatology patients. We are looking for an individual who is passionate about providing excellent patient care and can work effectively in a fast-paced environment.To be successful in this role, you must possess strong interpersonal and organizational skills, have a passion for dermatology and patient care, and be able to handle multiple tasks. The ideal candidate will have a minimum of two years’ experience in a medical office setting, possess certification from an accredited medical assistant program, and have knowledge of medical terminology and CPT/ICD-10 coding. We are looking for someone who is motivated and has a great attitude; someone who is patient-focused and has a commitment to providing exceptional care.

Responsibilities:

1. Greeting and registering patients and verifying patient information.
2. Obtaining medical histories and vital signs.
3. Preparing patients for exams and procedures.
4. Assisting with minor surgical procedures and injections.
5. Administering medications as directed by the physician.
6. Scheduling appointments and tests.
7. Answering phones and responding to patient inquiries.
8. Processing referrals and authorizations.
9. Performing laboratory tests and other diagnostic procedures.
10. Filing and maintaining patient records.
11. Collecting payments and processing insurance claims.
12. Assisting with patient education and providing referrals to other resources as needed.
13. Maintaining a clean and organized work area.
14. Adhering to all HIPAA and OSHA regulations.
