Job Description

We are currently seeking a dedicated Hospice Aide to join our team and help us fulfill our mission of improving the lives of those in our community. As a Hospice Aide, you will play a crucial role in supporting our patients during their end-of-life journey. We are looking for individuals who are passionate about providing comfort and support to those in need, and who possess the necessary skills and qualifications to excel in this role.   1. Provide direct patient care according to the hospice care plan and under the supervision of a registered nurse.
  2. Assist patients with activities of daily living, including personal hygiene, bathing, dressing, and toileting.
  3. Administer medications as directed by the registered nurse.
  4. Monitor and report changes in patient's condition to the registered nurse.
  5. Assist with meal preparation, feeding, and nutrition management.
  6. Create a comfortable and safe environment for patients and their families.
  7. Provide emotional support and companionship to patients and families.
  8. Maintain accurate and timely documentation of patient care.
  9. Collaborate with other members of the interdisciplinary team to develop and implement patient care plans.
  10. Follow infection control and safety protocols.
  11. Participate in ongoing education and training to maintain and improve skills.
  12. Adhere to all policies and procedures of the hospice organization.
  13. Maintain confidentiality of patient information.
  14. Demonstrate sensitivity and cultural competence when interacting with patients and their families.
  15. Represent the hospice organization in a professional and compassionate manner at all times.

Job Qualifications
  • Certified Nursing Assistant (Cna) Certification: A Hospice Aide At Providence St. Patrick Hospital Must Possess A Valid Cna Certification To Provide Direct Patient Care.

  • Prior Experience In Hospice Care: Candidates Should Have A Minimum Of 1-2 Years Of Experience In A Hospice Or Long-Term Care Setting To Demonstrate Their Understanding Of End-Of-Life Care And Comfort Measures.

  • Strong Communication Skills: Effective Communication Is Essential In Hospice Care, And Candidates Should Possess Excellent Verbal And Written Communication Skills To Engage With Patients, Families, And The Interdisciplinary Team.

  • Physical Stamina And Endurance: The Role Of A Hospice Aide Involves Assisting Patients With Activities Of Daily Living, Which Can Be Physically Demanding. Candidates Should Have The Physical Stamina And Endurance To Meet The Physical Demands Of The Job.
