Job Description

Providence St. Patrick Hospital is seeking a dedicated and motivated individual to join our team as a Histotechnologist Apprentice. In this role, you will have the opportunity to learn and develop your skills in the field of histology while working alongside experienced professionals in a fast-paced healthcare environment. The ideal candidate will have a strong attention to detail, excellent time-management skills, and a willingness to learn and grow.   1. Assist in the preparation and processing of tissue specimens for microscopic analysis.
  2. Learn and perform various histotechniques, including tissue embedding, cutting, staining, and mounting.
  3. Handle and maintain all laboratory equipment and supplies, ensuring accuracy and efficiency.
  4. Maintain accurate records and documentation of all specimens and testing procedures.
  5. Collaborate with other team members to ensure timely completion of tasks and maintain a smooth workflow.
  6. Adhere to all safety protocols and maintain a clean and organized work environment.
  7. Attend training sessions and educational programs to stay updated on new techniques and procedures in histology.
  8. Assist in quality control and quality assurance procedures to ensure accurate and reliable results.
  9. Communicate effectively with healthcare providers and colleagues to provide timely and accurate results.
  10. Uphold the highest standards of patient confidentiality and ethical practices.
  11. Demonstrate a positive and professional attitude towards patients, colleagues, and supervisors.
  12. Continuously seek opportunities for personal and professional growth in the field of histology.
