Are you interested in pursuing a career in the field of histotechnology? Do you have a passion for understanding the intricacies of human tissue and its role in diagnosing diseases? If so, then we have an exciting opportunity for you at Providence St. Patrick Hospital as a Histotechnologist Apprentice. As an apprentice, you will have the opportunity to work alongside experienced histotechnologists and gain hands-on experience in preparing tissue samples for analysis.   1. Assist experienced histotechnologists in preparing tissue samples for analysis.
  2. Learn and implement proper techniques for tissue processing, embedding, microtomy, staining, and cover slipping.
  3. Maintain accurate and complete records of all samples and procedures.
  4. Ensure the proper labeling and identification of all samples.
  5. Operate and maintain laboratory equipment in a safe and efficient manner.
  6. Follow all safety protocols and maintain a clean and organized work environment.
  7. Assist with quality control procedures and troubleshoot any issues that may arise.
  8. Participate in ongoing training and education to stay current with new techniques and technology in the field of histotechnology.
  9. Communicate and collaborate effectively with other members of the laboratory team.
  10. Adhere to all hospital policies and procedures.
  11. Maintain confidentiality and integrity of patient information.
  12. Continuously strive for accuracy and precision in all tasks.
  13. Take initiative and show a willingness to learn and take on new responsibilities.
  14. Meet established productivity and turnaround time goals.
  15. Demonstrate a strong work ethic and a positive attitude.

Job Qualifications
  • Bachelor's Degree In A Relevant Field, Such As Biology Or Medical Laboratory Science.

  • Completion Of A Certified Histotechnician Or Histotechnologist Training Program.

  • Knowledge Of Laboratory Safety Protocols And Procedures.

  • Familiarity With Histological Techniques, Including Tissue Processing, Embedding, And Staining.

  • Ability To Work Independently And As Part Of A Team, With Strong Attention To Detail And Accuracy.
