  1. Oversee and manage the daily operations of the emergency department and behavioral health units at Providence St. Patrick Hospital.
  2. Develop and implement strategies to ensure the delivery of high-quality and compassionate care to patients in the emergency department and behavioral health units.
  3. Lead a team of nurses and support staff, providing guidance, support, and mentorship to ensure a positive work environment and high levels of staff engagement.
  4. Collaborate with other department leaders to develop and maintain effective relationships and promote interdisciplinary teamwork.
  5. Ensure compliance with all regulatory and accreditation standards related to emergency and behavioral health care.
  6. Monitor and analyze key performance indicators to identify areas for improvement and implement necessary changes to enhance the quality of care and patient outcomes.
  7. Develop and manage department budgets, including identifying cost-saving measures and maximizing resources.
  8. Stay current on best practices and developments in emergency and behavioral health nursing, and implement new initiatives and programs as needed.
  9. Serve as a liaison between the nursing staff and hospital administration, providing regular updates and reports on department performance and initiatives.
  10. Promote a culture of continuous learning and professional development among nursing staff, encouraging participation in training, workshops, and conferences.
  11. Act as a role model and advocate for patient-centered care, ensuring that all patients receive individualized, compassionate, and culturally sensitive care.
  12. Collaborate with HR to recruit, hire, and retain qualified nursing staff, and provide ongoing performance evaluations and coaching.
  13. Ensure compliance with all hospital policies and procedures, as well as state and federal laws and regulations related to nursing and healthcare.
  14. Respond to patient and family concerns, complaints, and inquiries in a timely and appropriate manner.
  15. Foster a culture of safety and risk management, implementing strategies to prevent and mitigate potential risks and adverse events.

Job Qualifications
  • Bachelor's Degree In Nursing: The Director, Nursing - Ed & Behavioral Health Should Have A Minimum Of A Bachelor's Degree In Nursing From An Accredited Institution. This Degree Will Ensure That The Candidate Has A Strong Foundation In Nursing Principles And Practices.

  • Registered Nurse (Rn) License: The Candidate Should Possess A Current And Valid Rn License In The State Of Montana. This License Is Necessary To Practice Nursing And Is Required For The Director, Nursing - Ed & Behavioral Health Role.

  • Master's Degree In Nursing Or Related Field: A Master's Degree In Nursing Or A Related Field Is Highly Preferred For This Position. This Advanced Degree Will Provide The Candidate With The Necessary Knowledge And Skills To Effectively Lead The Ed And Behavioral Health Departments.

  • Minimum Of 5 Years Of Nursing Leadership Experience: The Ideal Candidate Should Have At Least 5 Years Of Experience In A Nursing Leadership Role, Preferably In An Emergency Department Or Behavioral Health Setting. This Experience Will Demonstrate The Candidate's Ability To Manage And Lead A Team Effectively.

  • Knowledge Of Healthcare Regulations And Policies: The Director, Nursing - Ed & Behavioral Health Must Have A Thorough Understanding Of Healthcare Regulations, Policies, And Procedures. This Knowledge Is Essential To Ensure Compliance And Provide Quality Care To Patients.
