  1. Assist radiologists and technicians in performing diagnostic imaging procedures such as X-rays, ultrasounds, and MRIs.
  2. Prepare and position patients for imaging procedures, ensuring their comfort and safety.
  3. Set up and maintain imaging equipment, ensuring it is in proper working condition.
  4. Retrieve and record patient information, including medical history and reason for imaging.
  5. Monitor patients during procedures and report any changes or concerns to the radiologist or technician.
  6. Ensure images are of high quality and meet necessary standards.
  7. Assist in maintaining accurate and organized patient records.
  8. Communicate effectively with patients, colleagues, and other healthcare professionals.
  9. Follow all safety protocols and maintain a sterile environment in the imaging department.
  10. Provide compassionate care and support to patients and their families during imaging procedures.
  11. Assist with scheduling appointments and managing patient flow.
  12. Keep up-to-date with new imaging technology and techniques.
  13. Comply with all hospital policies and procedures.
  14. Participate in continuing education and training programs.
  15. Maintain confidentiality of patient information.
  16. Collaborate with the healthcare team to ensure efficient and effective patient care.
  17. Report any equipment malfunctions or supply needs to the appropriate personnel.

  19. Demonstrate a positive attitude and maintain a professional demeanor at all times.
  20. Perform other duties as assigned by the supervising radiologist or department manager.

Job Qualifications
  • Degree Or Certificate In Radiologic Technology Or Related Field: A Formal Education In Radiologic Technology Or A Related Field Is A Fundamental Requirement For A Diagnostic Imaging Assistant Position At Providence St. Patrick Hospital. This Ensures That The Individual Has A Strong Foundation In The Principles And Techniques Of Diagnostic Imaging.

  • Certification In Basic Life Support (Bls): As A Part Of Patient Care, Diagnostic Imaging Assistants Must Be Certified In Basic Life Support (Bls). This Qualification Ensures That They Are Equipped With The Necessary Skills To Respond To Medical Emergencies And Provide Life-Saving Measures If Needed.

  • Experience In Operating Diagnostic Imaging Equipment: Applicants For This Position Should Have Experience In Operating A Variety Of Diagnostic Imaging Equipment, Such As X-Ray Machines, Ct Scanners, And Mri Machines. This Ensures That They Are Familiar With The Equipment And Can Perform The Necessary Tasks Effectively.

  • Strong Communication And Interpersonal Skills: Diagnostic Imaging Assistants Must Have Excellent Communication And Interpersonal Skills To Effectively Communicate With Patients And Healthcare Professionals. They Should Also Be Able To Provide Emotional Support And Maintain A Calm And Professional Demeanor In High-Stress Situations.

  • Attention To Detail And Problem-Solving Abilities: The Ability To Pay Close Attention To Detail And Think Critically Is Crucial In Diagnostic Imaging. Diagnostic Imaging Assistants Must Be Able To Identify And Troubleshoot Technical Issues With Equipment, As Well As Accurately Review And Report On Images To Assist Physicians In Making Diagnoses.
