- Prepare and cook delicious and nutritious meals for patients, visitors, and staff according to hospital guidelines and dietary restrictions.
- Follow recipes and portion controls to ensure consistency and quality of food.
- Maintain a clean and organized work area, including proper storage and labeling of food items.
- Adhere to food safety and sanitation practices to ensure the safety and well-being of patients, visitors, and staff.
- Collaborate with the dietary team to plan and coordinate daily menus and special event menus.
- Monitor inventory levels and place orders for necessary ingredients and supplies.
- Keep track of food waste and take steps to reduce waste whenever possible.
- Train and mentor new kitchen staff as needed.
- Stay updated on current food trends and incorporate new and creative dishes into the menu.
- Provide excellent customer service to patients, visitors, and staff, addressing any dietary concerns or special requests.
- Adhere to all hospital policies and procedures, including dress code and attendance.
- Communicate effectively with team members and other departments to ensure smooth operation of the kitchen.
- Participate in regular meetings and training sessions to maintain and improve culinary skills.
- Maintain a positive and professional attitude at all times, representing the hospital in a positive light.
- Continuously seek ways to improve processes and procedures to enhance the overall dining experience for patients and visitors.
Culinary Education: A Minimum Of A High School Diploma And/Or Culinary School Degree Is Required For A Cook Position At Providence St. Patrick Hospital. Additional Training Or Certifications In Food Safety And Sanitation Are Also Preferred.
Relevant Experience: Candidates Should Have At Least 2-3 Years Of Experience Working As A Cook In A Hospital, Healthcare Facility, Or Other High-Volume Food Service Setting. Experience With Therapeutic Or Special Dietary Menus Is A Plus.
