Job Description

We are currently seeking a dedicated and skilled Certified Nursing Assistant (CNA) to join our Surgical Oncology team. In this role, you will have the opportunity to work alongside a multidisciplinary team to provide exceptional care to patients with cancer. As a CNA in our Surgical Oncology unit, you will play a crucial role in assisting patients with daily activities, monitoring their condition, and providing emotional support during their treatments.   1. Provide compassionate and high-quality care to patients with cancer.
  2. Collaborate with a multidisciplinary team to ensure comprehensive and coordinated care.
  3. Assist patients with daily activities, such as bathing, dressing, and eating.
  4. Monitor and record patients' vital signs and report any changes or concerns to the nursing staff.
  5. Assist with patient transfers and repositioning to ensure comfort and safety.
  6. Administer medications as directed by the nursing staff.
  7. Provide emotional support to patients and their families during their treatments.
  8. Maintain a clean and organized patient care environment.
  9. Adhere to all hospital policies and procedures, as well as state regulations.
  10. Continuously update knowledge and skills through educational opportunities.
  11. Communicate effectively with patients, families, and healthcare team members.
  12. Participate in patient care conferences and provide input on patient care plans.
  13. Report any equipment malfunctions or maintenance issues to appropriate personnel.
  14. Foster a positive and welcoming atmosphere for patients and visitors.
  15. Maintain patient confidentiality and respect their rights.
  16. Adhere to infection control and safety protocols.
  17. Attend and actively participate in departmental meetings and trainings.
  18. Take initiative and be proactive in identifying and addressing patient needs.
  19. Act as a role model for other team members and demonstrate commitment to providing excellent patient care.

Job Qualifications
  • Certified Nursing Assistant (Cna) Certification: Applicants For A Cna-Surgical Oncology Position At Providence St. Patrick Hospital Must Possess A Valid Cna Certification From An Accredited Program.

  • Experience In Surgical Oncology: Candidates Should Have Previous Experience Working In A Surgical Oncology Unit Or A Similar Setting. This Experience Should Include Knowledge Of Medical Terminology, Surgical Procedures, And Basic Patient Care.
