
Bioinformatics Scientist
At Providence St. Patrick Hospital, we are looking for a talented and experienced Bioinformatics Scientist to join our team. Our ideal candidate will have a passion for data analysis and a keen eye for detail. The successful candidate will be responsible for analyzing large amounts of biological data to identify trends, patterns, and correlations to inform clinical and research decisions. The ideal candidate for this position should possess a combination of scientific knowledge, analytical skills, and technical expertise. A Bachelor's degree in Bioinformatics, Computer Science, Genetics, or a related field, and at least two years of experience in a related field are required. Additionally, excellent communication and interpersonal skills are essential to succeed in this role.
Responsibilities:
- Analyze large amounts of biological data to identify trends, patterns, and correlations to inform clinical and research decisions.
- Utilize scientific knowledge, analytical skills, and technical expertise to create accurate data models.
- Develop and maintain algorithms and data pipelines to ensure efficient and accurate data processing.
- Monitor performance of data models and algorithms to ensure accuracy and efficiency.
- Collaborate with other scientists and researchers to provide technical support and guidance.
- Maintain and update databases, as needed.
- Identify and evaluate potential data sources, and develop methods for data extraction and integration.
- Document and communicate research results and findings in a clear and effective manner.
- Stay up to date with new developments in the field of bioinformatics and related technologies.
- Adhere to all safety and privacy regulations of the hospital.
