Billing and Collections Representative

Providence St. Patrick Hospital is seeking an experienced Billing and Collections Representative to join our team. The ideal candidate for this role will be highly organized, detail-oriented, and have exceptional customer service skills. In this position, you will be responsible for ensuring the accurate and timely billing and collections of patient accounts. We are looking for someone who is determined, organized, and driven to help our hospital fulfill our mission of providing quality care for our patients.To be successful in this role, you must have a minimum of two years of medical billing and collections experience. A background in medical coding is also preferred. You must be proficient in the use of various software programs and be able to quickly learn new software programs. In addition, you must possess strong problem-solving and communication skills.

Responsibilities:

1. Process medical billing and collections for patient accounts in a timely and accurate manner.
2. Maintain patient databases and generate reports to track billing and collections.
3. Research and resolve billing discrepancies.
4. Prepare and submit patient insurance claims.
5. Follow up on unpaid claims and delinquent accounts.
6. Resolve customer inquiries and complaints related to billing and collections.
7. Ensure compliance with HIPAA regulations.
8. Utilize various software programs for billing and collections.
9. Train and mentor new team members.
10. Develop and maintain effective working relationships with other departments.
