
Associate Pharmacy Technician

- Assist pharmacists in preparing and dispensing medications to patients in accordance with established procedures and protocols.
- Maintain accurate and organized records of all medications dispensed and assist in inventory management.
- Collaborate with healthcare professionals to ensure proper medication dosing and administration for patients.
- Provide excellent customer service to patients, addressing any questions or concerns they may have regarding their medications.
- Prepare and label medications accurately and safely, adhering to all safety protocols and regulations.
- Assist in maintaining a clean and orderly pharmacy work environment.
- Follow all hospital and pharmacy policies and procedures to maintain a high standard of quality and safety.
- Handle confidential patient information with discretion and maintain patient confidentiality at all times.
- Communicate effectively with team members and other healthcare professionals to ensure efficient and timely medication delivery.
- Continuously update knowledge and skills through training and professional development opportunities.
- Adhere to all legal and ethical standards in medication handling and patient care.
- Provide support and assistance to pharmacists and other staff members as needed.
High School Diploma Or Equivalent: A Minimum Education Requirement For The Associate Pharmacy Technician Position At Providence St. Patrick Hospital Is A High School Diploma Or Equivalent. This Demonstrates A Basic Level Of Education And Knowledge Necessary For The Role.
Pharmacy Technician Certification: Candidates Must Have A Valid Pharmacy Technician Certification (Cpht) From An Accredited Program. This Certification Ensures That Applicants Have Received Appropriate Training And Have The Necessary Skills To Perform The Duties Of A Pharmacy Technician.
Previous Pharmacy Experience: Previous Experience Working In A Pharmacy Setting Is Highly Preferred For This Position. This Could Include Internships, Volunteer Work, Or Previous Employment As A Pharmacy Technician. Experience In A Hospital Or Healthcare Setting Is Also Desirable.
Knowledge Of Pharmacy Regulations And Procedures: Candidates Should Have A Thorough Understanding Of Pharmacy Regulations And Procedures, Including The Proper Handling Of Medications, Counting And Labeling Techniques, And Inventory Management. This Knowledge Is Crucial For Maintaining The Safety And Accuracy Of Medication Orders.
Strong Communication And Customer Service Skills: The Associate Pharmacy Technician Will Interact With Patients, Pharmacists, And Other Healthcare Professionals On A Daily Basis. Therefore, Strong Communication And Customer Service Skills Are Essential For This Role.
