Job Description

  1. Greet and welcome patients and their families as they enter the hospital, creating a positive and welcoming atmosphere.
  2. Conduct the admission process for patients, verifying personal and insurance information, and ensuring all necessary documentation is completed accurately and efficiently.
  3. Provide exceptional customer service to patients and their families, answering any questions they may have and addressing their concerns in a professional and compassionate manner.
  4. Communicate effectively with other hospital staff, including nurses, doctors, and administrative personnel, to ensure a smooth and timely admission process.
  5. Maintain patient confidentiality and adhere to all HIPAA regulations while handling sensitive information.
  6. Utilize computer systems and databases to accurately input and retrieve patient information.
  7. Collaborate with other departments, such as billing and medical records, to ensure all necessary information is collected and processed correctly.
  8. Assist with any necessary financial arrangements, such as collecting copayments and discussing payment options with patients.
  9. Maintain a thorough knowledge of hospital policies and procedures, as well as insurance regulations, to provide accurate information to patients and their families.
  10. Act as a liaison between patients and hospital staff, providing information, support, and guidance as needed.
  11. Keep accurate records of patient admissions and discharge processes, and ensure all necessary paperwork is completed and filed correctly.
  12. Attend training and development programs to stay updated on hospital procedures and policies, as well as industry changes and advancements.
  13. Uphold the hospital's mission and values, promoting a culture of compassion, excellence, and teamwork.
  14. Adhere to all safety and infection control protocols to maintain a safe and healthy environment for patients and staff.
  15. Perform other duties as assigned by the Admitting Supervisor or hospital leadership.

Job Qualifications
  • High School Diploma Or Equivalent: A Minimum Of A High School Diploma Or Equivalent Is Typically Required For An Admitting Representative Position At Providence St. Patrick Hospital.

  • Excellent Written And Verbal Communication Skills: Admitting Representatives Must Have Strong Communication Skills To Interact With Patients, Families, And Other Healthcare Professionals In A Professional And Courteous Manner.

  • Knowledge Of Medical Terminology: Familiarity With Medical Terminology Is Essential For An Admitting Representative, As They Will Be Responsible For Accurately Recording Patient Information And Medical History.
