Identity Focused Counselor/Multicultural Specialist

Providence College is looking for an experienced, passionate Identity Focused Counselor/Multicultural Specialist to join our team. In this role, you will provide counseling, outreach, and advocacy services to students from diverse backgrounds, and create a welcoming and inclusive environment for all. You will be expected to be knowledgeable of the different identities present in our student population and demonstrate a commitment to social justice. We are seeking a candidate with a master’s degree in counseling, social work, higher education, or a related field; at least three years of experience working with college students in a multicultural setting; experience developing and delivering multicultural programming; and knowledge of pertinent legal, ethical, and accreditation standards. Excellent verbal, written, and interpersonal communication skills are required, as well as the ability to work effectively with a diverse group of students and staff. This position requires a high level of sensitivity, flexibility, and understanding of the unique needs of college students.
