- Assisting in surgical procedures: The Surgical Tech will be responsible for assisting surgeons and other medical professionals in various surgical procedures. This includes preparing the operating room, sterilizing equipment, and handing instruments to the surgeon during the procedure.
- Maintaining a sterile environment: The Surgical Tech will be responsible for maintaining a sterile environment in the operating room. This includes ensuring that all equipment and supplies are properly sterilized and following strict infection control protocols.
- Preparing patients for surgery: The Surgical Tech will be responsible for preparing patients for surgery by helping them change into surgical gowns, positioning them on the operating table, and cleaning the surgical site.
- Monitoring patient vitals: During surgery, the Surgical Tech will be responsible for monitoring the patient’s vital signs and reporting any changes or concerns to the surgical team.
- Assisting with anesthesia: The Surgical Tech may also be responsible for assisting with anesthesia administration and monitoring the patient’s response during surgery.
- Providing support to the surgical team: The Surgical Tech will be responsible for providing support to the surgical team as needed, including handing instruments, holding retractors, and assisting with wound closure.
- Ensuring proper equipment and supplies: The Surgical Tech will be responsible for ensuring that all necessary equipment and supplies are available and in working order for each surgical procedure.
- Documenting patient care: The Surgical Tech will be responsible for accurately documenting all aspects of patient care, including pre-operative and post-operative assessments.
- Adhering to safety protocols: The Surgical Tech will be responsible for adhering to all safety protocols and procedures to ensure the safety of patients, staff, and visitors.
- Continuing education: The Surgical Tech will be responsible for staying up-to-date on the latest surgical techniques and procedures through continuing education and training opportunities.
Completion Of An Accredited Surgical Technologist Program: Candidates For This Position Should Possess A Degree Or Certificate From An Accredited Surgical Technology Program.
Certified Surgical Technologist (Cst) Certification: To Be Considered For This Role, Applicants Must Hold A Current Certification As A Cst From The National Board Of Surgical Technology And Surgical Assisting (Nbstsa).
Knowledge Of Surgical Procedures And Equipment: Candidates Should Have A Strong Understanding Of Various Surgical Procedures And Be Familiar With The Equipment And Instruments Used In The Operating Room.
Attention To Detail And Accuracy: Surgical Technicians Must Be Detail-Oriented And Have The Ability To Follow Strict Protocols To Ensure Patient Safety During Surgical Procedures.
Communication And Teamwork Skills: This Role Requires Strong Communication Skills And The Ability To Work Well With A Team In A Fast-Paced, High-Stress Environment. Candidates Should Be Able To Take Direction From Surgeons And Other Team Members While Also Communicating Effectively With Patients And Their Families.
