- Develop and implement safety policies and procedures to ensure compliance with state and federal regulations and promote a safe working environment.
- Conduct regular safety audits and inspections to identify potential hazards and make recommendations for corrective action.
- Collaborate with department leaders and employees to identify and address safety concerns and develop solutions to mitigate risks.
- Provide training and guidance to employees on best safety practices and procedures to promote a culture of safety throughout the organization.
- Investigate and report on incidents and accidents, identifying root causes and implementing measures to prevent future occurrences.
- Maintain up-to-date knowledge of safety regulations and industry best practices to continuously improve safety standards at Prisma Health.
- Develop and maintain relationships with external safety organizations and agencies to stay informed on industry trends and regulations.
- Conduct safety orientations for new employees and contractors to ensure they are aware of safety protocols and expectations.
- Collaborate with the Occupational Health team to ensure compliance with employee health and safety regulations.
- Develop emergency response plans and conduct drills to prepare employees for potential emergencies.
- Keep accurate records of safety incidents, audits, and training sessions, and provide regular reports to management.
- Serve as a resource for employees and management on safety-related matters, providing guidance and support as needed.
- Act as a liaison between Prisma Health and regulatory agencies during safety inspections and investigations.
- Participate in safety committees and meetings to provide updates on safety initiatives and address safety concerns.
- Continuously monitor and evaluate the effectiveness of safety programs and make recommendations for improvements as needed.
Strong Knowledge Of Safety Protocols And Regulations: A Safety Partner At Prisma Health Should Have A Thorough Understanding Of Safety Protocols And Regulations In A Healthcare Setting. This Includes Knowledge Of Osha Guidelines, Fire Safety Procedures, And Emergency Response Protocols.
Experience In Healthcare Safety: Candidates Should Have Prior Experience Working In A Healthcare Safety Role, Preferably In A Hospital Or Clinical Setting. This Experience Should Include Developing And Implementing Safety Policies, Conducting Safety Audits, And Providing Safety Training To Staff.
Attention To Detail: Safety Partners Must Have Excellent Attention To Detail To Identify Potential Hazards And Risks In The Workplace. They Should Be Able To Conduct Thorough Safety Inspections And Document Any Findings Accurately.
Communication Skills: Effective Communication Is Crucial For A Safety Partner At Prisma Health. They Will Need To Communicate Safety Procedures And Protocols To Staff, As Well As Report Any Safety Concerns Or Incidents To Management.
Ability To Work Independently: Safety Partners Should Be Self-Motivated And Able To Work Independently. They Will Be Responsible For Conducting Safety Inspections And Training, So They Should Be Able To Manage Their Time Effectively And Prioritize Tasks Accordingly.
