  1. Accurately and safely handle and dispense medications to patients.
  2. Collaborate with pharmacists and other healthcare professionals to ensure proper medication therapy management.
  3. Maintain inventory levels and restock medications as needed.
  4. Prepare and label medications accurately according to prescription orders.
  5. Monitor and document medication storage and temperature control.
  6. Provide excellent customer service to patients and healthcare professionals.
  7. Assist in resolving any medication-related issues or concerns.
  8. Adhere to all state and federal regulations regarding pharmacy operations.
  9. Maintain patient confidentiality and follow HIPAA guidelines.
  10. Stay updated on new medications and drug information to provide the best care to patients.
  11. Handle insurance claims and process payments accurately.
  12. Maintain a clean and organized work environment.
  13. Train and mentor new pharmacy technicians and interns.
  14. Participate in quality improvement initiatives to enhance patient care.
  15. Demonstrate a commitment to patient safety and quality standards.
  16. Communicate effectively with patients, healthcare professionals, and colleagues.
  17. Maintain accurate and up-to-date patient records.
  18. Follow all safety protocols and procedures to ensure a safe working environment.
  19. Perform other duties as assigned by the pharmacy manager or supervisor.
  20. Embody the mission, vision, and values of Prisma Health in all interactions with patients and colleagues.

Job Qualifications
  • Completion Of A Recognized Pharmacy Technician Training Program: Candidates Must Have Completed A Pharmacy Technician Program From An Accredited Institution To Be Considered For The Role.

  • State Certification And Registration: Candidates Must Hold A Valid Pharmacy Technician Certification And Registration From The State In Which They Will Be Working. This Ensures That They Have Met All The Necessary Requirements To Practice As A Pharmacy Technician.

  • Strong Knowledge Of Pharmaceuticals And Medication Dispensing: A Successful Candidate Must Have A Thorough Understanding Of Different Types Of Medications, Their Uses, Dosages, And Potential Side Effects. This Knowledge Is Essential For Accurately Dispensing Medications And Counseling Patients On Their Proper Use.

  • Excellent Communication And Customer Service Skills: As A Registered Pharmacy Technician, Candidates Will Be Interacting With Patients, Healthcare Providers, And Other Members Of The Healthcare Team On A Daily Basis. Strong Communication And Customer Service Skills Are Necessary To Provide Excellent Patient Care And Maintain A Positive Working Relationship With Colleagues.

  • Attention To Detail And Accuracy: Accuracy Is Critical In Medication Dispensing, And A Successful Candidate Must Have Exceptional Attention To Detail To Ensure That The Right Medication And Dosage Are Dispensed To Patients. This Also Includes Maintaining Accurate Records And Following All Relevant Protocols And Procedures.
