
Registered Nurse (RN)-Outpatient, Surgical Pre-assessment

- Conduct thorough pre-surgical assessments of patients to determine their physical, emotional, and psychological readiness for surgery.
- Educate patients on the surgical process, potential risks and complications, and post-operative care instructions.
- Collaborate with surgeons, anesthesiologists, and other healthcare professionals to develop individualized care plans for patients.
- Monitor patients' vital signs, administer medications, and provide other nursing care as needed.
- Ensure all necessary pre-operative tests and screenings are completed and properly documented.
- Accurately document patient information, including medical history, medications, and allergies.
- Communicate with patients and their families to address any concerns or questions they may have about the surgical process.
- Maintain a clean and organized work environment, adhering to infection control and safety protocols.
- Stay updated on current practices and procedures related to surgical pre-assessment and implement any changes or updates as needed.
- Act as a resource for other nurses and healthcare professionals regarding surgical pre-assessment protocols and procedures.
- Provide emotional support and comfort to patients and their families during the pre-operative process.
- Participate in quality improvement initiatives to improve patient outcomes and satisfaction.
- Adhere to all legal, ethical, and professional standards in the nursing profession.
- Maintain accurate and up-to-date patient records and ensure confidentiality of all patient information.
- Collaborate with the interdisciplinary team to coordinate and ensure continuity of care for patients.
Current Rn Licensure: The Candidate Must Possess A Valid And Active Registered Nurse License In The State Where The Position Is Located.
Bachelor's Degree In Nursing: A Minimum Of A Bachelor's Degree In Nursing (Bsn) Is Required For This Position, With Preference Given To Candidates With Advanced Degrees Such As A Master's In Nursing.
Clinical Experience: Candidates Must Have At Least 2-3 Years Of Experience Working As An Rn In An Outpatient Surgical Setting, Preferably In A Pre-Assessment Role.
Strong Communication And Interpersonal Skills: As An Outpatient Surgical Pre-Assessment Rn, The Candidate Must Possess Excellent Communication Skills To Effectively Communicate With Patients, Their Families, And Other Healthcare Professionals.
Knowledge Of Surgical Procedures And Pre-Operative Care: The Ideal Candidate Should Have A Strong Understanding Of Surgical Procedures, Pre-Operative Care, And Post-Operative Recovery In Order To Provide The Best Care For Patients Undergoing Outpatient Surgery.
