  1. Provide exceptional care to patients with cardiac conditions during pre, intra, and post cardiac catheterization procedures.
  2. Utilize strong critical thinking skills to assess patient needs, develop care plans, and make quick and accurate decisions in a fast-paced environment.
  3. Collaborate with a multidisciplinary team including cardiologists, cardiovascular technologists, and other healthcare professionals to ensure comprehensive and individualized patient care.
  4. Monitor and document patients' vital signs, lab results, and other relevant data to identify any changes in their condition and take appropriate action.
  5. Administer medications and treatments as prescribed by physicians and closely monitor patient responses.
  6. Educate patients and their families on cardiac catheterization procedures, post-procedure care, and self-management techniques.
  7. Maintain accurate and thorough medical records and ensure compliance with all regulatory guidelines and hospital policies.
  8. Continuously evaluate and improve patient care processes to ensure the highest quality of care delivery.
  9. Assist with the preparation and setup of the cardiac catheterization lab and equipment.
  10. Provide emotional support and comfort to patients and their families during the procedure and address any concerns or questions they may have.
  11. Stay updated on the latest advancements and research in cardiac care and apply evidence-based practices in daily patient care.
  12. Adhere to infection control and safety protocols to maintain a safe and clean environment for patients and staff.
  13. Act as a patient advocate and maintain confidentiality at all times.
  14. Participate in ongoing education and training to enhance skills and knowledge related to cardiac care.
  15. Maintain a positive and professional attitude while promoting a culture of teamwork and collaboration within the healthcare team.

Job Qualifications
  • Bachelor's Degree In Nursing: A Bachelor's Degree In Nursing (Bsn) Is Typically Required For A Registered Nurse (Rn) Position At Prisma Health. This Degree Provides A Solid Foundation In Nursing Principles And Prepares The Individual For Advanced Practice In Cardiac Catheterization.

  • Current Rn Licensure: Candidates Must Hold A Current And Active Registered Nurse (Rn) License In The State Of South Carolina. This License Must Be In Good Standing And Without Any Disciplinary Actions.

  • Cardiac Catheterization Experience: Candidates Should Have A Minimum Of 2 Years Of Experience In Cardiac Catheterization Procedures. This Experience Should Include A Variety Of Diagnostic And Interventional Procedures, As Well As Experience With Various Types Of Cardiac Equipment.

  • Acls Certification: Advanced Cardiac Life Support (Acls) Certification Is Required For All Registered Nurse (Rn) Positions At Prisma Health. This Certification Demonstrates The Individual's Ability To Respond To Cardiac Emergencies And Provide Advanced Cardiac Care.

  • Strong Communication And Teamwork Skills: Working In A Cardiac Catheterization Lab Requires Excellent Communication And Teamwork Skills. Candidates Should Be Able To Effectively Communicate With Patients, Physicians, And Other Healthcare Professionals, As Well As Work Collaboratively In A Fast-Paced And High-Stress Environment.
