- Conduct nutrition assessments for patients with endocrine disorders and develop personalized nutrition plans based on their individual needs and medical conditions.
- Collaborate with endocrinologists and other healthcare professionals to provide comprehensive care for patients.
- Educate patients and their families on the importance of proper nutrition in managing endocrine disorders and how to make healthy dietary choices.
- Monitor and track patients' progress and make necessary adjustments to their nutrition plans as needed.
- Stay up-to-date on the latest research and developments in the field of endocrinology and incorporate this knowledge into patient care.
- Maintain accurate and thorough documentation of patient encounters and treatment plans.
- Work with food service staff to ensure that patients' dietary needs are met during their hospital stay.
- Participate in multidisciplinary team meetings and provide input on nutrition-related issues.
- Serve as a resource for other healthcare professionals, providing guidance and support on nutrition-related matters.
- Adhere to all ethical and professional standards, as well as state and federal regulations, in the provision of nutrition care.
Bachelor's Degree In Nutrition Or Dietetics: A Registered Dietician, Endocrinology At Prisma Health Should Have A Minimum Of A Bachelor's Degree In The Field Of Nutrition Or Dietetics. This Education Provides A Strong Foundation In Health Sciences And Prepares Individuals For A Career In Clinical Nutrition.
Registered Dietician (Rd) Credential: The Candidate Should Be A Registered Dietician And Have An Active License From The Commission On Dietetic Registration (Cdr). This Credential Ensures That The Candidate Has Met The Necessary Education And Training Requirements To Practice As A Dietician.
Specialization In Endocrinology: Prisma Health Is Looking For A Candidate Who Has Specialized In Endocrinology. This Could Be In The Form Of A Master's Degree, Post-Graduate Certificate Or Relevant Experience In Working With Patients With Endocrine Disorders.
Clinical Experience: Prisma Health Requires Candidates To Have A Minimum Of 2-3 Years Of Clinical Experience In A Healthcare Setting, Preferably In Endocrinology. This Experience Should Involve Working With Patients With Various Endocrine Disorders And Providing Evidence-Based Nutrition Therapy.
Strong Communication And Interpersonal Skills: A Successful Candidate Should Possess Excellent Communication And Interpersonal Skills To Effectively Interact With Patients, Their Families, And Other Healthcare Professionals. This Includes The Ability To Explain Complex Medical Concepts In Simple Terms And Develop Personalized Nutrition Plans For Patients With Endocrine Disorders.
