  1. Coordinate and manage the referral process for patients seeking care from the Rheumatology department.
  2. Communicate with patients, healthcare providers, and insurance companies to facilitate timely and accurate referrals.
  3. Serve as a point of contact for patients, answering questions and providing information about the referral process.
  4. Work closely with the Rheumatology team to ensure a seamless and efficient referral process.
  5. Review and verify insurance coverage and obtain necessary authorizations for referrals.
  6. Maintain accurate and up-to-date records of all referral activities.
  7. Collaborate with other departments and outside providers to ensure continuity of care for patients.
  8. Communicate any potential issues or delays in the referral process to appropriate parties and work towards resolution.
  9. Stay informed about changes in insurance coverage, referral guidelines, and other relevant healthcare policies.
  10. Provide excellent customer service and demonstrate empathy and compassion towards patients.
  11. Adhere to all HIPAA regulations and maintain patient confidentiality at all times.
  12. Participate in training and educational opportunities to continuously improve skills and knowledge related to referral management.
  13. Contribute to a positive and supportive work environment within the Rheumatology department and the larger healthcare organization.
  14. Perform other duties as assigned by the supervisor or departmental leadership.

Job Qualifications
  • Bachelor's Degree In A Healthcare-Related Field, Such As Nursing Or Health Administration.

  • Minimum Of 2 Years Of Experience Working In A Referral Coordination Or Patient Navigation Role.

  • Knowledge Of Rheumatology And Experience Working With Patients With Rheumatologic Conditions.

  • Strong Communication And Interpersonal Skills, With The Ability To Effectively Liaise With Patients, Providers, And Other Healthcare Professionals.

  • Proficiency In Electronic Health Record Systems And Other Relevant Healthcare Software.
