- Conduct thorough evaluations of patients' foot and ankle wounds and develop individualized treatment plans.
- Perform surgical and non-surgical interventions, including debridement, wound dressings, and offloading techniques.
- Monitor and track patients' wound healing progress and make necessary adjustments to treatment plans.
- Collaborate with other healthcare professionals, such as nurses, physical therapists, and primary care physicians, to ensure comprehensive patient care.
- Educate patients on proper wound care techniques and provide them with resources for ongoing self-management.
- Maintain accurate and timely documentation of patient assessments, treatments, and progress.
- Stay up-to-date on the latest advancements and techniques in podiatry and wound healing.
- Adhere to all relevant laws, regulations, and ethical standards in patient care.
- Participate in multidisciplinary team meetings to discuss patient cases and provide input and recommendations.
- Contribute to quality improvement initiatives and participate in research projects related to wound healing.
- Provide support and guidance to medical assistants and other support staff.

- Complete all administrative tasks, such as scheduling, billing, and record-keeping, accurately and in a timely manner.
Doctor Of Podiatric Medicine (Dpm) Degree: A Podiatrist Must Have Completed An Accredited Doctor Of Podiatric Medicine Program To Obtain A License And Practice In The Field Of Podiatry.
State Licensure: In Addition To A Dpm Degree, A Podiatrist Must Also Have A Valid State License To Practice Podiatric Medicine. This Ensures That They Have Met The Necessary Requirements And Standards Set By The State Board.
Board Certification In Podiatry And Wound Care: Podiatrists Can Become Board Certified In The Specialty Of Wound Care Through The American Board Of Podiatric Medicine. This Certification Demonstrates Advanced Knowledge And Skills In Treating Wounds Of The Lower Extremities.
Experience In Wound Healing: Prisma Health May Prefer Candidates With Previous Experience In Wound Healing, Particularly In A Hospital Or Clinical Setting. This Experience Can Include Treating Various Types Of Wounds, Using Advanced Wound Care Techniques, And Utilizing The Latest Technologies In Wound Healing.
Strong Communication And Interpersonal Skills: A Podiatrist Must Possess Excellent Communication And Interpersonal Skills To Effectively Communicate With Patients And Healthcare Teams. They Should Be Able To Explain Complex Medical Concepts In A Clear And Understandable Manner And Work Collaboratively With Other Healthcare Professionals To Develop Treatment Plans For Patients.
