- Perform surgical procedures on patients with musculoskeletal injuries and disorders, including but not limited to joint replacements, fracture repairs, and soft tissue repairs.
- Evaluate patients' medical histories and physical conditions to determine the best course of treatment and surgical approach.
- Order and interpret diagnostic tests, such as x-rays and MRI scans, to aid in diagnosis and treatment planning.
- Collaborate with other healthcare professionals, including physical therapists and occupational therapists, to develop and implement individualized treatment plans for each patient.
- Educate patients and their families about their conditions, treatment options, and post-operative care instructions.
- Monitor patients' progress and make adjustments to treatment plans as needed.
- Maintain accurate and up-to-date medical records for all patients.
- Stay current with advancements in orthopedic surgery techniques and procedures, and incorporate them into practice as appropriate.
- Adhere to all safety protocols and guidelines to ensure a safe and sterile surgical environment.
- Provide guidance and mentorship to residents, medical students, and other healthcare professionals as needed.
- Participate in departmental and hospital committees and meetings to improve patient care and outcomes.
- Collaborate with insurance companies and medical billing staff to ensure timely and accurate reimbursement for services provided.
- Adhere to all ethical and legal standards in patient care and practice.
- Continuously evaluate and improve processes and protocols to enhance the quality of care and patient satisfaction.
